Trump Administration Launches Free AI Education Initiative for America’s Youth

The Trump Administration is intensifying its focus on artificial intelligence education, announcing a sweeping new initiative to equip students, teachers, and parents with free AI training and resources. Speaking on behalf of the White House, Michael Kratsios, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy and Chair of the White House Task Force on AI Education, declared that as AI reshapes how people learn, work, and communicate, America must remain a global leader in harnessing this transformative technology.

AI NEWS – To achieve this, the administration is joining forces with major corporations, nonprofits, and educational institutions that have pledged to put America’s future first by investing directly in AI education for the nation’s youth. This announcement follows an Executive Order signed by President Donald J. Trump in April, establishing new opportunities in education and workforce development to ensure that American students gain exposure to AI from an early age. The Executive Order also created the White House Task Force on AI Education, tasked with forming public-private partnerships to strengthen AI literacy and cultivate the next generation of leaders in technology.

The full details of the program were published on the official White House website. Among the most significant commitments is Google’s pledge of $1 billion toward U.S. education and job training programs. As part of this effort, Google will provide every high school across the country with free access to Gemini for Education, including Gemini 2.5 Pro along with tools such as Guided Learning and Notebook LM.

College students will also benefit from the expansion of Google’s AI for Education Accelerator, which has doubled its reach to two hundred colleges and universities, backed by $150 million in grants over the next three years. Additional funding includes $3 million to code.org and $2 million to the Flourish Fund, all supported by a new centralized website for teachers and parents to easily access AI training materials.

These efforts underscore a broader national strategy: by giving young Americans the opportunity to develop AI expertise early, the Trump Administration aims to secure U.S. dominance in the global AI revolution while preparing a workforce ready to thrive in an economy powered by artificial intelligence. With both government leadership and private sector investment aligned, this initiative positions the United States at the forefront of AI education and ensures that students today will become the innovators of tomorrow.
