Snap Inc. Pledge to America’s Youth Advances AI Literacy and Digital Safety

Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, is advancing its commitment to AI education and youth developmentthrough the Pledge to America’s Youth. The company is launching several initiatives designed to combine AI literacy, safety, and career readiness, preparing the next generation for responsible and informed engagement with emerging technologies.

AI NEWS – As part of these efforts, Snap is expanding AI expertise within its Safety Advisory Board, a group of academics, online safety practitioners, and technologists who advise Snap teams on the safe and responsible use of AI. The company is also launching a dedicated AI initiative for its U.S. Teen Council for Digital Well-Being, which begins its second cohort in 2026. This program will focus on the impact of AI on youth and how to foster early interest in responsible AI practices.

Snap is introducing in-app educational programming aimed at teens to raise awareness about the safe and ethical use of AI technologies within the platform. Complementing these educational efforts, Snap’s mentorship programs, including Snap Academies and Snap Lens Lab, will provide early-career students with hands-on AI training to strengthen technical and professional skills. These initiatives aim to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge and experience needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world and contribute meaningfully to the future of technology.
