President Donald J. Trump’s administration continues to expand its nationwide AI education initiative as Learning.com announces a multi-million-dollar investment over the next four years to launch and scale its Next Generation AI Literacy program.
AI NEWS – According to the official White House website, this initiative builds on Learning.com’s existing Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship programs with EasyTech, which currently reaches over 2 million K–8 students across the U.S., and aims to expand AI literacy to 5 million K–12 students through cloud platforms, statewide adoptions, and district pilots. The program will provide 100,000 teacher professional development opportunities, including 95,000 self-paced micro-PD modules and 5,000 live or virtual workshops and academies, along with thousands of interactive lessons, educator toolkits, classroom guides, and family support resources.
The curriculum is built on four pillars of AI literacy: Understanding AI, Applying AI, Critical Thinking About AI, and Ethics and Impact. This structure ensures students learn not only how AI works and how to use it effectively but also how to critically evaluate AI-generated content and understand its societal implications. Lessons are student-centered, self-paced, and age-appropriate, providing hands-on practice that progressively develops AI skills from elementary through middle school.
Teachers benefit from professional development and support resources to grow their own AI literacy alongside students, while families can access Learning.com’s AI resource center to guide healthy AI use at home.
Learning.com’s Next Generation AI Literacy program represents the natural evolution of decades of commitment to preparing students for a technology-driven future. By integrating proven digital literacy frameworks and hands-on AI instruction, this initiative aligns with the Trump Administration’s strategy to ensure that U.S. students develop the skills, knowledge, and ethical awareness necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving AI-driven economy.
The comprehensive curriculum will be ready for full district implementation in the 2026–2027 school year, supporting the nation’s goal of cultivating a generation of AI-literate learners and future innovators.
