Kyndryl, together with the Kyndryl Foundation, is expanding its commitment to workforce development and AI education with a series of initiatives designed to prepare students and educators for the digital economy. Central to the effort is an 18-week apprenticeship-style program aimed at high school students, providing hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, with a target of reaching 1,500 participants.
AI NEWS – The Kyndryl Foundation is also partnering with schools and educators to develop AI learning frameworks that could potentially impact over 300,000 K-12 students nationwide. These frameworks are designed to equip students with essential skills for future careers while integrating AI literacy and practical applications into classroom instruction.
Beyond curriculum development, Kyndryl is organizing career-readiness events and supporting work-based learning and career technical education (CTE) initiatives, ensuring that students gain real-world experience alongside classroom learning. The programs also include mentoring and coaching, allowing students to receive guidance from industry professionals and learn from experts actively shaping the AI field.
Educators are a key focus of the initiative, with professional development opportunities, training sessions, and access to Kyndryl industry experts designed to enhance teaching practices and curriculum effectiveness. Additionally, Kyndryl actively gathers feedback on the AI frameworks and instructional materials, ensuring that programs remain relevant, practical, and aligned with workforce needs.
Through these programs, Kyndryl and the Kyndryl Foundation are helping bridge the gap between education and industry, providing students and teachers with the knowledge, skills, and resources to thrive in an AI-driven future.
